O corpo e a contemplação da verdade em Platão: uma análise do Fédon

By analyzing the thought of Plato, when we consider the problem of knowledge, we found a preponderance of aspects related to the intellect and reasoning about the physical aspects and sensitive world of becoming. The soul, as opposed to the body, carries all the significance of being a philosopher, because only through it can know the truth, the object of unceasing pursuit of the lover of knowledge. The body is a bad thing for the man, the source of defects and difficulties, which can be ignored because of their inferior status to the soul. When questioned, on the Phaedo, where the body has a role in the process that occurs to the knowledge, the notion that we have shown is that the body is of no use to man, in regard to philosophical research, and thus only worthy contempt because it contains in itself the cause of all vices. However, if we analyze carefully the arguments relating to knowledge, especially the argument of Anamnesis discussed in this work, we realize that, despite the negative connotation of being explicit about the body, does not so understand in this regard is maintained throughout the dialogue. The focus of this research will therefore be to demonstrate that within the Phaedo, it is possible to identify a sensitive appreciation through a more careful reading and above all different, the point of being no longer possible to claim absolute uselessness of the sensitive as shown in the passage 65A.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível SuperiorAo analisarmos o pensamento de Platão, quando consideramos o problema do saber, verificamos uma preponderância dos aspectos relacionados ao raciocínio e ao intelecto sobre os aspectos físicos e sensíveis do mundo do devir. A alma, oposta ao corpo, carrega consigo toda a importância de ser filósofo, dado que somente através dela é possível conhecer a verdade, objeto de incessante busca do amante do saber. O corpo representa uma coisa má para o homem, fonte de vícios e vicissitudes, que pode ser ignorado devido à sua condição inferior à alma. Quando questionamos, no Fédon, se o corpo tem alguma função no processo que ocorre até o conhecimento, a noção imediata que temos é a de que o corpo de nada serve ao homem, no que concerne à investigação filosófica, e dessa forma, só merece o desprezo por comportar em si mesmo causa de todos os vícios. Entretanto, se analisarmos cuidadosamente os argumentos referentes ao saber, especialmente o argumento da Anamnesis discutido nessa obra, perceberemos que, apesar de estar explícita a conotação negativa sobre o corpo, não é assim que a compreensão a este respeito é mantida durante todo o diálogo. O foco dessa pesquisa será, portanto, o de demonstrar que no interior do Fédon, é possível identificar uma valorização do sensível, através de uma leitura mais cuidadosa e sobretudo diferente, ao ponto de não mais ser possível a afirmação absoluta da inutilidade do sensível, tal como indica a passagem 65A
