The long spin lifetimes exhibited by endohedral fullerenes imply that they can store quantum information and hence have the potential to be used as qubits. Production of asymmetrical endohedral fullerene dimers (e.g. iNC(60)-iNC(70)) could lead to ordered arrays of ABABAB sequences. This kind of molecular self-assembly offers potential for creating large qubit arrays, a precondition for any scalable quantum computer. We present our progress towards the production and characterisation of endohedral fullerenes, fullerene dimers and array structures and their potential use in quantum computation
