Discriminação salarial e segregação ocupacional: uma análise de gênero no mercado de trabalho paraibano (1995 2009).

The aim of this paper is to discuss and analyze the characteristics of the female workforce in the labor market Paraiba, seeking to identify changes in the profile of the hand labor of women and the inequalities that persist. It examines the role of the occupational distribution and gender discrimination in determining the wage gap between men and women in the economy of Paraiba. To perform the measurement of the dynamic profile of the workforce, labor and gender inequalities are used activity rates, sex ratios, segregation ratios and the application of the wage decomposition using the econometric model of Blinder-Oaxaca (1973), calculated from the microdata, raised in the National Research by Household Sample/PNAD, the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics/IBGE, the period between 1995 and 2009. The results show that occupationalsegregation has increased, while the percentage of the difference in income from discrimination is decreasing, and currently accounts for approximately 66% of the wage gap. In general, the labor market Paraiba, women are segregated in jobs more precarious work and have paid less than men, not explained by productive attributes.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível SuperiorO objetivo deste trabalho é discutir e analisar as características da força de trabalho feminina no mercado de trabalho paraibano, procurando identificar as mudanças no perfil da mão-de-obra feminina e as desigualdades que persistem. Investiga-se o papel da distribuição ocupacional e da discriminação de gênero na determinação do hiato salarial entre homens e mulheres na economia paraibana. Para realizar a mensuração da dinâmica do perfil da mão-de-obra e das desigualdades de gênero utilizam-se taxas de atividade, razões de sexo, índices de segregação e a aplicação da decomposição salarial através da utilização do modelo econométrico de Oaxaca-Blinder (1973), calculados a partir dos microdados, levantadas nas Pesquisas Nacionais por Amostra de Domicílios/PNADs, do Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística/IBGE, no período compreendido entre 1995 e 2009. Os resultados mostram que a segregação ocupacional tem se elevado, enquanto o percentual da diferença de rendimentos provenientes da discriminação está diminuindo, e atualmente é responsável por aproximadamente 66% do hiato salarial. Em geral, no mercado de trabalho paraibano, as mulheres estão segregadas em postos mais precários de trabalho e possuem remuneração inferior aos homens, não explicadas pelos atributos produtivos
