This qualitative research aims to build an intervention proposal for the development of writing skills with deaf student. Thus we conducted a study on the teaching and learning process of the Portuguese language, bringing some reflections on the appropriate methodology to do so with some issues surrounding the learning of a second language for deaf students in the school context. We believe that the Brazilian Sign Language - Libras should guide the learning Portuguese as a second language in the written form for the Deaf.
