DESENVOLVIMENTO VEGETATIVO DE CULTIVARES DE FEIJÃO MACASSAR NO BREJO PARAIBANO

Macassar bean or string bean is the main subsistence crop of the North and Northeast regions of the country. In addition, macassar bean is one of the main sources of energy and protein in the diet of the populations of these regions. The objective of this work was the evaluation of the vegetative development of five macassar bean cultivars in the region of Brejo Paraibano. The present work was conducted in an experimental area of the CCA, Campus II, Federal University of Paraíba - UFPB, located in the Jardim Areia-PB area. The experimental area was composed of 4 replicates, using a randomized block design (DBC), with 5 treatments, which were randomly arranged, with each treatment corresponding to a macassar bean cultivar. In each plot, 5 plants were selected within the useful area for the biometric evaluation of the vegetative development, 30 days after planting, the first evaluations of the vegetative development were carried out, being carried out fortnightly totalizing 4 evaluations, among the the plant height, number of branches, length of branches, number of leaves, leaf length and width, stem diameter, number of nodes and number of flowers per plant was evaluated at 45 days post-planting and totaling 6 evaluations in the interval of 4 days between them. The cultivar Riso Year among all the characteristics evaluated presented better values only for number of leaves and number of flowers in relation to the other cultivars. Even all cultivars receiving equal conditions of fertilization and population distribution of plants by area. The cultivar Corujinha presented the best values for vegetative growth characteristics. Laughter of the Year was shown to be superior for characteristic number of flowers. Corujinha and Pajeú did not differ statistically among themselves in relation to the number of flowers.O feijão-macassar ou feijão-de-corda se constitui como a principal cultura de subsistência das regiões Norte e Nordeste do país. Além disso, o feijão-macassar se caracteriza como uma das principais fontes de energia e proteína na alimentação das populações dessas regiões. Objetivou-se com este trabalho a avaliação do desenvolvimento vegetativo de cinco cultivares de feijão-macassar na região do Brejo Paraibano. O presente trabalho foi conduzido em uma área experimental do CCA, Campus II, da Universidade Federal da Paraíba – UFPB, localizado em chã do Jardim Areia-PB. A área experimental foi composta de 4 repetições, utilizando o delineamento de blocos casualizados (DBC), com 5 tratamentos, o quais foram dispostos ao acaso, em que cada tratamento corresponde a uma cultivar de feijão-macassar. Em cada parcela foram selecionadas e marcadas 5 plantas dentro da área útil para realização das avaliações biométricas a respeito das avaliações do desenvolvimento vegetativo, decorrido 30 dias do plantio deram-se as primeiras avaliações do desenvolvimento vegetativo, sendo realizadas quinzenalmente totalizando 4 avaliações, dentre as características agronômicas da cultura analisadas foram: altura de planta, número de ramas, comprimento de ramas, numero de folhas, comprimento e largura da folha, diâmetro do caule, numero de nós e número de flores por planta foi avaliado os 45 dias pós-plantio e totalizando 6 avaliações no intervalo de 4 dias entre elas. O cultivar Riso Ano dentre todas as características avaliadas apresentou melhores valores apenas para número de folhas e número de flores em relação aos demais cultivares. Mesmo todos o cultivares recebendo condições iguais de adubação e distribuição populacional de plantas por área. O cultivar Corujinha apresentou os melhores valores para características de crescimento vegetativo. O Riso do Ano mostrou-se superior para característica número de flores. Corujinha e o Pajeú não deferiram estatisticamente entre si em relação ao número de flores
