NOTIFICAÇÃO DE AGRAVOS POR ANIMAIS PEÇONHENTOS: PROBLEMÁTICAS E RECOMENDAÇÕES

Accidents with venomous animals are common throughout Brazil. The number of accidents reported has increased significantly in the present century, but the quality of information available is one of the major difficulties of epidemiological studies from networked data. The objective of this study is to understand and identify possible problems in the record of notification of injuries by venomous animals used by the Toxicological Service Center, as well as to suggest adjustments for the improvement of the same. The study was carried out in the period of May to September of 2017, in the Toxicological Service Center of Campina Grande - PB. It was analyzed the model of investigation form used, the items of the file were read carefully, observing the structure and the available information. The present work was authorized by the CEP of the HLW of the UFPB. The token is composed of fifty-nine items, while carrying out the analysis it was observed that five items could be altered. Missing items such as the notification of accidents by wasps or ants, as well as the genera scorpion, wasps and ants were found. Of the fifty-nine items in the listing, twenty-three present as an "ignored" response option. The research records follow a national standard, bringing relevant information, however, it was possible to identify gaps in the items, relevant information that is no longer collected and the database is depleted for further biological or epidemiological studies, which could assist in prophylaxis procedures. O número de acidentes notificados aumentou significativamente no século atual, no entanto a qualidade das informações disponíveis é uma das grandes dificuldades dos estudos epidemiológicos a partir de dados em rede. O estudo tem como objetivo entender e identificar possíveis problemáticas na ficha de notificação de agravos por animais peçonhentos utilizados pelo Centro de Atendimento Toxicológico, assim como sugerir adequações para o melhoramento da ficha. O estudo foi realizado no período de maio a setembro de 2017, no Centro de Atendimento Toxicológico de Campina Grande - Paraíba. Foi analisado o modelo de ficha de investigação utilizado, os itens da ficha foram lidos cuidadosamente, observando a estrutura e as informações disponíveis. O presente trabalho foi autorizado pelo Comitê de Ética do Hospital Lauro Wanderley da UFPB. A ficha é composta por cinquenta e nove itens, durante a realização da análise observou-se que cinco itens poderiam ser alterados. Verificou-se itens ausentes, como a notificação de acidentes por vespas ou formigas, assim como os gêneros de escorpião, vespas e formigas. Dos cinquenta e nove itens da ficha, vinte e três apresentam como opção de resposta “ignorado”. As fichas de investigação seguem um padrão nacional, trazendo informações relevantes, contudo, foi possível identificar lacunas nos itens, informações relevantes que deixam de ser coletadas e desabastecem o banco de dados para posteriores estudos biológicos ou epidemiológicos, que poderiam auxiliar nas condutas de profilaxia
