A importância da disciplina de LIBRAS para a formação do pedagogo

The present research reffers to the Special Education improvement area of the Pedagogy Course from the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB). The purpose of this study was to analyze the importance of "Teaching of Libras" as a subject for the Teacher training itself . The specific objectives are: to identify future anxieties, experiences and expectations of the acquisition of that mentioned subject in the Pedagogy course from UFPB; To analyze how the Teaching of Libras build their theoretical-practical understandings concerned to the deafness in the referred course and to realize the importance of learning Libras for the Pedagogy graduation student from UFPB in relation to his/her coexistence with deaf students In the classroom. Based on the qualitative approach, the field research was developed through the application of a questionnaire with 102 students from the 7th period of the Pedagogy Course from UFPB who were enrolled in the Teaching of Libras course and it was fulfilled in the morning, afternoon and evening shifts during the month of July of the 2016.1 term. The adopted methodological procedures were organized in three stages: bibliographic survey on the subject, documentary research and empirical research with a posterior analysis of the collected data in the field work. As a theoretical contribution, studies on the issues of inclusive education, deaf education and teacher training were used. Among the authors used for this research, we highlight Veiga and D'Avila (2008), Nóvoa (1992), Skliar (1998), Strobel (2006) and Santiago (2011). Besides the mentioned theorists this discussion was based on the Laws and Guidelines related to the teacher formation process, the Pedagogical Project of the Pedagogy Course from UFPB and the "Libras" subject Planning Course. The results allowed us some results,such as, that the students from the Pedagogy Course from UFPB who were enrolled in the Libras subject are not ready for teaching classes for deaf students, although they understand the importance of that subject because it is the introduction to the awakening for further studies in the field of deafness and sign language areas.A presente pesquisa vincula-se a área de aprofundamento Educação Especial do Curso de Pedagogia da Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB). O trabalho teve como objetivo analisar a importância da disciplina “Ensino de Libras” para a formação do (a) pedagogo (a). Constitui- se como objetivos específicos: identificar anseios, experiências, angústias e expectativas futuras dos ingressos na disciplina Ensino de Libras no Curso de Pedagogia da UFPB; analisar como os ingressos da disciplina Ensino de Libras do Curso de Pedagogia da UFPB constroem suas compreensões teórico-práticas acerca da surdez e perceber a importância do aprendizado de Libras para o estudante de Pedagogia da UFPB para a convivência, enquanto futuro pedagogo, com alunos surdos em sala de aula. Com base na abordagem qualitativa, a pesquisa de campo foi desenvolvida mediante a aplicação de um questionário com 102 estudantes do 7o período do Curso de Pedagogia da UFPB matriculados na disciplina Ensino de Libras e realizada nos turnos da manhã, tarde e noite, no mês de julho do semestre 2016.1. Os procedimentos metodológicos adotados foram organizados em três etapas: levantamento bibliográfico sobre a temática, pesquisa documental e pesquisa empírica com uma posterior análise dos dados coletados no trabalho de campo. Como aporte teórico, utilizou-se estudos sobre a problemática da educação inclusiva, educação de surdos e formação docente. Dentre os autores que fundamentam essa pesquisa destacam-se Veiga e D’Avila (2008), Nóvoa (1992), Skliar (1998), Strobel (2006) e Santiago (2011). Além dos teóricos citados, essa discussão foi pautada com base nas Leis e Diretrizes que regulamentam a formação docente, o Projeto Pedagógico do Curso de Pedagogia da UFPB e o Plano de Curso da Disciplina de Libras. Os resultados nos permitiram algumas reflexões, a saber: que os alunos do Curso de Pedagogia da UFPB matriculados na disciplina de Libras não se sentem preparados para ministrar aulas para alunos surdos, embora atribuam importância a essa disciplina pelo fato dela ser a introdução para um despertar para estudos mais aprofundados no universo da surdez e da língua de sinais
