A importância de trabalhar o ensino da história e da cultura afro-brasileira e africana em sala de aula

This study is dedicated to show the importance of implementation of Law 10.639/03, which ruled that educational institutions in Brazil start to implement the study of history and Afro- Brazilian and African culture in the school curriculum. This research is based on qualitative nature with emphasis on bibliographic analysis and existing publications that deal with the said topic. In January 2003, President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva signed Law No. 10,639 / 03 which made compulsory the teaching of African and African-Brazilian history and culture in the establishments of basic education in Brazil. The main objective of the Law is shows the importance of thinking in education for diversity, to disseminate and produce knowledge as well as attitudes and values to educate citizens about the ethnic and racial diversity. However, this research shows that implementing the Law 10.639 / 03 in school is a challenge full of obstacles, because there is resistance from the school, students and parents, and even observed that the issue is only addressed in the week that is celebrated black consciousness, a date that is dedicated to reflection on the inclusion of black people in Brazilian society, being neglected the study throughout the school year. Regarding the teaching materials, it is seen that it does not collaborate yet effectively to the study of Afro-Brazilian and African history and culture because there is no approach with depth of necessary content on the subject. From this study it was possible to conclude that despite the significant advances with the legalization of the Law, schools must still seek an effective way to implement the Law, addressing more broadly the theme, and making teachers understand that it is the duty of the educator with the school to adjust the school curriculum so that it upholds the rule of law, being added to school curriculum the teaching Afro-Brazilian and African history and culture.Este estudo se dedicou a mostrar a importância da execução da Lei 10.639/03 que decretou que as instituições de ensino no Brasil passem a implementar o estudo da história e da cultura Afro-Brasileira e Africana nos currículos escolares. Está pesquisa baseia-se na natureza qualitativa com ênfase em análises bibliográficas e de publicações já existentes, as quais versam sobre o referido tema. Em janeiro de 2003, o presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva assina a Lei N.o 10.639/03 que tornou obrigatório o ensino da História e Cultura Africana e Afro-Brasileira nos estabelecimentos da educação básica no Brasil. O maior objetivo da Lei é mostra a importância de pensar em uma educação para diversidade, de divulgar e produzir conhecimentos, assim como atitudes e valores que eduquem os cidadãos quanto à pluralidade étnico-racial. No entanto, essa pesquisa mostra que implementar a Lei 10.639/03 na escola é um desafio cheio de obstáculos, pois existe resistência por parte da escola, dos educandos e dos pais, e ainda se observa que o tema só é abordado na semana em que se comemora a consciência negra, data que é dedicada à reflexão sobre a inserção do negro na sociedade brasileira, sendo negligenciado o estudo ao longo do ano letivo. Quanto ao material didático, é visto que ainda não colabora de forma efetiva para o estudo da história e da cultura Afro- Brasileira e Africana, pois existe ausência de abordagem com profundidade dos conteúdos necessários sobre o assunto. A partir deste estudo foi possível concluir que apesar dos avanços significativos com a legalização da Lei, as escolas ainda devem buscar uma forma eficaz para a aplicação da Lei, abordando com maior amplitude a temática, e fazendo com que os professores entendam que é dever do educador junto com a escola, ajustar o currículo escolar, para que se faça valer o cumprimento da lei, sendo agregado aos conteúdos escolares o ensino da história e da cultura Afro-Brasileira e Africana
