Stanley Kowalski, condutor de um bonde chamado desejo: a ação trágica no drama moderno

The research developed in this study seeks to analyze in the light of the theory of social drama, the actions of the character Stanley Kowalski in Tennessee Williams’ play A Streetcar Named Desire (translated into Portuguese as Um Bonde Chamado Desejo). In the analysis of the dramatic text in question, we use as theoretical basis for this study the basic understanding of the dramatic genre, taking as starting point the fundamentals of Aristotelian tragedy, as well as the contributions of the analytical theory of modern drama formulated by authors such as Hegel, John Howard Lawson and Sandra Luna. The contributions of these theorists led us to conflicting events in the evolution of the plot of the play and the actions of the character Stanley Kowalski. The sources presented in this analysis were fundamental to the development of this study because, without them, could occur misunderstandings about the attitudes of the character Stanley Kowalsky, subject to our final analysis. This study does not intend to make an exhaustive investigation about the play, but contribute to the debate on the proposal made in this research and to open further discussions regarding the dramatic action in the play.A pesquisa bibliográfica desenvolvida neste estudo busca analisar à luz da teoria do drama social, as ações da personagem Stanley Kowalski na peça A Streetcar Named Desire (traduzida para o Português como Um bonde chamado Desejo) do escritor Tennessee Williams. Na análise do texto dramático em questão, utilizaremos como fundamentação teórica para este estudo, basilares ao entendimento do gênero dramático, tomando, como ponto de partida os fundamentos aristotélicos da tragédia, bem como as contribuições analíticas da teoria do drama moderno formulados por autores como Hegel, John Howard Lawson e Sandra Luna. As contribuições desses teóricos nos conduziram a análises sobre os eventos conflituosos na evolução da trama da peça e das ações da personagem Stanley Kowalski. As fontes apresentadas para a realização desta análise foram fundamentais para o desenvolvimento deste estudo, pois sem elas poderiam ocorrer equívocos quanto ao entendimento das atitudes da personagem Stanley Kowalsky, objeto de nossa analise final. Este estudo não pretende esgotar o tema investigado, mas, contribuir para a reflexão sobre a proposta realizada e abrir possibilidades de discussões posteriores com relação à ação dramática da peça
