This research provides a reflective approach, in which we discuss the learning process in reading, which is considered crucial to the integration of the individual in society. However, this task has caused failures in the early years of schooling, there are even a significant number of children who fail to understand the nature of the activity, responding to the demands that school is for learning. It is often very high and the amount of pupils who have learning difficulties in this area, affecting his whole school career. Based on this assumption delimit general objective: to analyze the situation of teaching and learning in relation to reading literacy in the period. The specific objectives defined to describe the conceptions of literacy that permeate the school today; report how is the practice of reading in the classroom; describe some factors that influence the process of reading in literacy classes; diagnose how is the conceptions and practices of reading teachers and students surveyed. Established the following hypotheses: The success of learning to read children depends on factors imprint cognitive, pedagogical as well, and a stimulating environment in the classroom. Initially, the investigation was based on literature review. It is made an approach to the concepts of literacy that still permeates the school, learning to read the educational prospects. Subsequently address aspects such as: the educator and the practice of reading in the classroom and the factors that hinder learning to read. Here is the methodology that is supported by two questionnaires (one for teachers and one for students) aimed at measuring how is learning to read. Finally, we verified that learning to read is a theme which, although it has improved considerably, still requires changes in teachers' pedagogical practice, requiring continuous research and a process of continuous updating teaching and that learning to read depends not only on factors related to the educational process, but also psychological imprint.A presente pesquisa traz uma abordagem reflexiva, mediante a qual se discute o processo de aprendizagem na leitura, a qual é considerada fundamental para a integração do indivíduo na sociedade. No entanto, esta tarefa tem gerado insucessos, nos primeiros anos de escolaridade, havendo mesmo um número significativo de crianças que não conseguem compreender a natureza da atividade, respondendo às exigências que a escola faz em termos de aprendizagem. É frequente e bastante elevado o quantitativo de alunos que revelam dificuldades de aprendizagem nesta área, condicionando toda a sua trajetória escolar. Partindo desse pressuposto delimitamos como objetivo geral: analisar a situação do ensino aprendizagem em relação à leitura no período de alfabetização. Como objetivos específicos, definimos: descrever as concepções de alfabetização que permeiam a escola até hoje; relatar como se dá a prática da leitura em sala de aula; descrever alguns fatores que influenciam no processo de leitura nas classes de alfabetização; diagnosticar como se dá as concepções e práticas de leitura pelos professores e alunos pesquisados. Estabelecemos as seguintes hipóteses: O sucesso da aprendizagem da leitura das crianças depende de fatores de cunho cognitivos, pedagógicos, bem como e um ambiente estimulante na sala de aula. Numa primeira fase, a investigação assentou-se na revisão bibliográfica. Nela é feita uma abordagem sobre as concepções de alfabetização que continuam permeando a escola; a aprendizagem da leitura nas perspectivas educacionais. Posteriormente abordam-se aspectos como: o educador e a prática da leitura em sala de aula e os fatores que dificultam a aprendizagem da leitura. Apresentamos a metodologia que tem como suporte dois questionários (um para professores, outro para alunos) que visam aferir como se dá a aprendizagem da leitura. Por fim, verificamos que a aprendizagem da leitura é uma temática que, embora já tenha melhorado bastante, ainda requer mudanças na prática pedagógica dos docentes, necessitando investigação contínua e um processo de permanente atualização pedagógica e, que o aprendizado da leitura não depende apenas de fatores relacionados ao processo pedagógico, mas também de cunho psicológico
