ANÁLISE DA TRANSIÇÃO AGROECOLÓGICA NO ASSENTAMENTO MARGARIDA MARIA ALVES I

Actually the agroecological is understood as a transition that changed from the conventional system to the agroecological one, having its gradual form and respecting the knowledge of each farmer. There may be several factors that motivate the agroecological transition from the farmers' own consciousness, such as: the incentives of social organizations, ther researches in the strengthening of agroecology and the attractive prices of the organic products. Considering the challenges faced by farmers to achieve this level of transition and the benefits that this system provides, the present work aims to analyze the productive practices adopted by the farmers coming from the Settlement Margarida Maria Alves I. We are taking into consideration the process of the agroecological transition adopted to make the cultivation of the Organic cotton. The methodology adopted in this research was the descriptive one, for this reason we used semi - structured interviews with ten farmers, besides, we used the field observation through the transversal walk in the respective settlement lots. Having this processes into consideration, the Farmers stated that EMBRAPA support was essential for the agroecological transition and the organization in the association they were settled. With the data, we can affirm that the motivators of the agroecological transition were: the search for a healthier life for the families producing and consuming the agroecological products, the reduction of the expenses in the productive process and the conservation of the environment with the valorization of the products. We could observe that the most relevant obstacles were the lack of organic cotton certification and the absence of public politics.Entende-se por transição agroecológica a mudança do sistema convencional para o agroecológico, sendo de forma gradual, respeitando o saber de cada agricultor. Podem ser vários os fatores que motivam a transição agroecológica desde a própria consciência dos agricultores, os incentivos das organizações sociais e de pesquisa no fortalecimento da agroecologia e os preços atrativos dos produtos orgânicos. Diante dos desafios enfrentados pelos agricultores para alcançar esse nível de transição e os benefícios que esse sistema proporciona, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar as práticas produtivas adotadas por agricultores do Assentamento Margarida Maria Alves I, no processo de transição agroecológica adotado para o cultivo do algodão orgânico. A metodologia adotada foi a pesquisa descritiva, sendo realizadas entrevistas com roteiro semiestruturado com dez agricultores, além da observação de campo por meio da caminhada transversal nos respectivos lotes do assentamento. Os agricultores afirmaram que o apoio da EMBRAPA foi fundamental para a transição agroecológica e para organização da associação no assentamento. Com os dados podemos afirmar que os motivadores da transição agroecológica foram a busca de uma vida mais saudável para as famílias produtoras e consumidoras dos produtos agroecológicos, a diminuição dos gastos no processo produtivo, a conservação do meio ambiente e a valorização dos produtos.
