IDENTIFICAÇÃO DE ESPÉCIES PRODUZIDAS NO VIVEIRO FLORESTAL DO CENTRO DE CIÊNCIAS AGRÁRIAS - UFPB

Urban afforestation plays a very important role in maintaining environmental quality, significantly influencing the reduction of impacts caused by the growth of cities. The forest nurseries are responsible for the production of species destined to the afforestation, aiming at the preservation of the forests and maintenance of the native species, from the local environmental demand. According to this and considering the absence of papers describing the plant species produced in the Forest Nursery of the Center of Agricultural Sciences – UFPB, the idea of performing this study had the objective of carrying out an inventory of the species produced. The data collection was performed through weekly visits, with on-site observation and through the specialized literature. It was identified 55 species belonging to 49 genera, distributed in 19 families. It was verified that 56% of the species of the nursery present medicinal principles, 13% present medicinal and toxic properties and only 4% present toxic substances. 71% of the species produced are native.A arborização urbana desempenha um papel muito importante na manutenção da qualidade ambiental, influenciando significativamente na diminuição dos impactos causados pelo crescimento das cidades. Os viveiros florestais são responsáveis pela produção das espécies destinadas a arborização, objetivando a preservação das florestas e manutenção das espécies nativas, a partir da demanda ambiental local. Diante do exposto e considerando a ausência de trabalhos que descrevam as espécies vegetais produzidas no Viveiro Florestal do Centro de Ciências Agrárias - UFPB surgiu a ideia de realizar esse estudo que teve como objetivo realizar um inventário das espécies produzidas. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de visitas semanais, com observação “in loco” e através da literatura especializada. Foram identificadas 55 espécies pertencentes a 49 gêneros, distribuídos em 19 famílias. Constatou-se que 56% das espécies do viveiro apresentam princípios medicinais, 13% apresentam propriedades medicinais e tóxicas e 4% apresentam apenas substâncias tóxicas. 71% das espécies produzidas são nativas
