OBSTRUÇÃO ESOFÁGICA EM EQUINO RELATO DE CASO

The present work describes a clinical case of an equine with an obstruction in the esophagus in the cervical portion, first attended to the field and later sent to the Veterinary Hospital at the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), Campus Areia. The clinical characteristics were of esophageal obstruction, which was confirmed after maneuvers done with nasogastric tube. The study used the treatment methods used in the literature, its evolution and possible expected results. The objective of this study was to report this disease, which is quite common in the equestrian environment, aiming at prophylaxis and itstreatments.O presente trabalho descreve um caso clínico de um equino com uma obstrução no esôfago na porção cervical, atendido primeiramente a campo e posteriormente enviado para o Hospital Veterinário na Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB), Campus Areia. As características clínicas eram de obstrução esofágica, o qual foi confirmado após manobras feitas com sonda nasogástrica. No estudo foram utilizados os métodos de tratamento descritos na literatura, sua evolução e possíveis resultados esperados. O objetivo do trabalho foi relatar esta enfermidade que é bastante comum no meio equestre visando tratamento e prevenção de novos casos
