Ruminary parameters and weight gain of sprd goats supplemented in pastejo in caatinga

The objective of this study was to evaluate ruminal parameters in goats with no defined racial pattern, supplemented and maintained in a continuous grazing system in the caatinga. The experiment was carried out at the Small Ruminants Research Unit of the Experimental Station of São João do Cariri, belonging to the CCA / UFPB. The experiment lasted for 120 days, with the first 10 days of diet adaptation. Twenty male animals, castrated with approximately 16 kg of body weight, were distributed in a completely randomized design. The animals were distributed in four treatments, which will consist of the levels of (concentrated) supplementation of 0.0; 0.5; 1.0 and 1.5%. The supplement was composed of: corn meal, soybean meal, wheat bran and mineral mix, with 16.5% CP and 2.72 ME / kg DM to meet an average gain of 150 g / animal / day. The animals had access to native pasture from 6:00 p.m. and were collected at 4:00 p.m., when they remained housed in individual stalls to receive supplementation. The animals were weighed weekly to monitor weight gain. The pH and N-NH3 of the ruminal liquid were evaluated and the results were submitted to regression analysis and with this, the pH presented a non-significant result, whereas N-NH3 showed a linear effect. The use of any of the levels of supplementation can be inserted into the feed without affecting the ruminal environment, but for a greater gain of weight of goats in a caatinga grazing system is indicated the supplementation of 1.5%.NenhumaObjetivou-se avaliar os parâmetros ruminais em caprinos sem padrão racial definido, suplementados e mantidos em sistema de pastejo contínuo na caatinga. O experimento foi desenvolvido na Unidade de Pesquisa em Pequenos Ruminantes da Estação Experimental de São João do Cariri, pertencente ao CCA/UFPB. O Experimento teve duração de 120 dias, sendo os primeiros 10 dias de adaptação às dietas. Foram utilizados 20 animais machos, castrados com, aproximadamente, 16 kg de peso corporal, distribuídos em delineamento inteiramente casualizado. Os animais foram distribuídos em quatro tratamentos, que consistirão nos níveis de suplementação (concentrada) de 0,0; 0,5; 1,0 e 1,5%. O suplemento foi composto por: farelo de milho, farelo de soja, farelo de trigo e mistura mineral, com 16,5% de PB e 2,72 de EM/kg de MS, para atender um ganho médio de 150 g/animal/dia. Os animais tiveram acesso a pastagem nativa a partir das 06:00h e foram recolhidos às 16:00h, quando permaneceram alojados em baias individuais para receber a suplementação. Os animais foram pesados semanalmente para acompanhamento do ganho em peso. Foram avaliados o pH e N-NH3 do liquido ruminal e os resultados foram submetidos a análise de regressão e com isso, o pH apresentou resultado não significativo, já o N-NH3 mostrou efeito linear. O uso de qualquer um dos níveis de suplementação pode ser inserido na alimentação não afetando o ambiente ruminal, porém para um maior ganho de peso de caprinos em sistema de pastejo em caatinga indica-se a suplementação de 1,5%
