Background: Nonperiodic or aperiodic form of Brugia malayi Lichtenstein was discovered and reported recently from East Kalimantan as a new subspecies by Sudjadi, in addition to the nocturnally periodic and subperiodic form, previously known as health problem in many rural areas in Indonesia.
