TEKNIK PENYINARAN RADIASI EKSTERNA PADA KASUS MELANOMA MALIGNA POST OPERASI DIGITI 1 DI UNIT RADIOTERAPI INSTALASI RADIOLOGI RSUP DR. SARDJITO YOGYAKARTA

Malignant melanoma is a skin malignancy originating from melanocyte cells; these cells are still able to form melanin. Patient positioning and use of fixation tools are very important, in general, fixation tools are used sandback and ropes. At Radiotherapy Installation Unit Dr. RSUP Sardjito Yogyakarta fixation equipment used is a thermoplastic 3 point mask which is modified to 2 points. The purpose of this study was to find out how the procedure of external radiation irradiation technique in the case of postoperative malignant melanoma was screened at Radiotherapy Installation Unit Dr. RSUP 1. Sardjito Yogyakarta and the reason for the use of thermoplastic masks in the case of external radiation irradiation techniques in the case of postoperative malignant melanoma in the 1st Radiotherapy Installation Unit of Dr. RSUP Sardjito YogyakartaThe type of research carried out by the author is a type of qualitative research with a case study approach, the authors conducted observations, in-depth interviews and documented data on the technique of external radiation irradiation in the case of the 1st postoperative malignant melanoma in the Radiology Installation Unit Dr. RSUP Sardjito Yogyakarta. Analysis of data by means of the reduction phase, data coutation, and then concluded.The results showed that the technique of external radiation irradiation in the case of postoperative malignant melanoma was screened 1 in the Radiology Installation Unit of Dr. RSUP Sardjito Yogyakarta uses 2D technique with two AP / PA fields with 100 cm source skin distance, determination of irradiation parameters through several stages, namely: physical examination by radiation oncology specialist, 2D simulator planning, dose calculation in TPS with 2D technique, external radiation irradiation in the irradiation room, a total dose of 50 Gy with a fraction of 2Gy per day for 25 times irradiation. The reason for using thermoplastic masks in this case is because thermoplastic masks are fixation devices that can best follow the contours of the patient's body and which are individual. Thermoplastic masks are also a facility provided by Dr. RSUP Sardjito to patients. The use of this mask fixation is better, so that the fixed hand can be more attached and the mobilization of the hand is reduced. Aside from being a fixation tool the use of thermoplastics is also one of the efforts for patient comfort, cosmetic value and making the position of the object more consistent during irradiation so that there is no shift or movemen
