TEKNIK PEMERIKSAAN RADIOGRAFI THORAX PEDIATRIK PADA KASUS BRONCHOPNEUMONIA DI INSTALASI RADIOLOGI RSUD DR. R. SOEDJATI SOEMADIARDJO PURWODADI

ABSTRACTBackground: Pediatric chest radiographic examination in cases of bronchopneumonia in the Radiology Installation of RSUD Dr. R. Soedjati Soemardiadjo Purwodadi is only done using AP projections, but not all uses of AP projections on pediatric thorax examination in the case of bronchopneumonia can make a diagnosis because bronchopneumonia is divided into two namely pure bronchopneumonia and comorbidity. If the use of AP projection in comorbid bronchopneumonia sufferers will not be enough to make a diagnosis in these patients because the disease includes with congenital heart disease abnormalities.Methods: The type of this research is qualitative research with a case study approach. Data were collected in April-May 2019 at Radiology Installation of the RSUD Dr. R. Soedjati Soemardiadjo Purwodadi by using the method of direct observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The research subjects were radiographers, radiologist specialists, sending doctors and patient families. Data analysis is done in three stages, namely, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion.Result: The results showed the technique of pediatric chest radiographic examination on the case of bronchopneumonia only used the AP projection with a viewpoint located at the xyphoid process and the radiation distance of 100 cm. The advantages and disadvantages of using AP projections in pediatric Thoracic examinations on the case of bronchopneumonia is that it is easy to position the patient, speed up the examination, fewer radiation doses received by patients, can assess lung area but will not be clear to assess hilum thickening and cardiac abnormalities in comorbid bronchopneumonia sufferers
