PERBEDAAN INFORMASI ANATOMI MRI ANKLE JOINT SEKUEN PROTON DENSITY FAT SUPRESSION IRISAN SAGITAL ANTARA METODE SPIR DAN SPAIR

Background: The are severale methods of Fat Supression that are used in MRI examination of ankle joint, namely SPIR and SPAIR, which is a Fat Supression method that applies a Frequency Selective Inversion Pulse. SPAIR is a powerful technique in suppressing fats that has low sensitivity to RF pulse inhomogeneity, while SPIR is considered to have advantages that are slightly more susceptible to non-homogeneous magnetic fields (B0). In some Jakarta hospitals such as Mayapada Hospital, South Jakarta, SPIR is used as a routine protocol for MRI ankle joint examinations and is considered better in producing images. However, based on preliminary studies SPAIR is more evenly distributed in suppressing fat signals compared to SPIR. The purpose of this research is to know the difference information of anatomical image on the examination of MRI ankle joint sagital slice proton density sequences Fat Supression between SPIR and SPAIR method, and to know better method of Fat Supression in revealing the image information of MRI ankle joint sagital slice.Methods: The research quantitative with approach of pre-experimental design method static-group comparison.The study was conducted at Mayapada Hospital, South Jakarta. The research took from of the 25 images of MRI ankle joint sagital slice fat supression from 10 volunteers with two variations of fat supression method between SPIR and SPAIR. Assessment the image information of anatomy was done by three respondents.
