ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN KLIEN KANKER CERVIK DENGANTERAPI EKSTERNAL RADIASI FOKUS STUDI RESIKO TERJADIKERUSAKAN INTEGRITAS KULIT

Cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of death for women in the world. InIndonesia, cervical cancer ranks first among the 10 most cancers found in 13laboratory centers of anatomical pathology in Indonesia. According to the WorldHealth Organization (WHO), Indonesia is the country with the largest number ofpeople with cervical cancer in the world (Ministry of Health, 2015). Externalradiation is one of the management of cervical cancer, carried out by using highenergyrays to kill cancer cells. Based on data from visits in the radiotherapyroom, RSUP (Central General Hospital) Dr. Kariadi Semarang, the most commonside effect in cervical cancer patients receiving external radiation therapy is anulcer in the radiation area.This study aims to obtain an overview and direct experience of cervical cancernursing care with external radiation therapy.The research design used is a case study. The research subjects at the care of thiscase were 2 patients suffering from cervical cancer who underwent externalradiation therapy at RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang. The inclusion criteria for caresubjects were patients who had received external radiation therapy 15 times andthe skin of the radiation area was blackened but no injuries had occurred.After taking nursing care measures for 3 days, for client 1 it was found that thearea exposed to the radiation beam was thick and numb, there was no ulcer. Forxithe second client, it was found that the area exposed to the radiation beam wasthick, numb and itchy and ulcers appeared, so it needed further management, thatis consultation to the radiotherapy doctor
