HUBUNGAN PERAN ORANG TUA DAN PERILAKU ANAK MENYIKAT GIGI TERHADAP KARIES GIGI ANAK SD NEGERI METESEH

Dental caries is a dental tissue disease characterized by tissue damage, from the surface of the tooth extending towards the pulp. The role of parents is very necessary in maintaining healthy teeth can underlie the formation of behaviors that support child's dental hygiene so that the child's dental health is maintained properly. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of parents and the behavior of children brushing teeth on dental caries of elementary school children Meteseh.This research ]uses analytic observational method with cross sectional approach with population of 439 students and 81 students and parents as sample. Sampling using non random sampling with purposive sampling. This study used a questionnaire of children and parents and examination of dental caries by observation. The result of the research was tested by Rank Spearman Correlation test.The result of this research is there is parent role relation to child dental caries as educator p value 0,000 (
