PERBEDAAN INFORMASI ANATOMI PADA PEMERIKSAAN MRI SHOULDER JOINT SEKUENS T2-FSE FAT SUPPRESSION IRISAN CORONAL ANTARA METODE SPIR DAN SPAIR

Fat suppression is a fat-suppression technique intend to reveal the contrast of tissue from an anatomy well without significant contribution of the fat signal around it (Jeremy, 2012). Application of fat suppression technique can be used on musculoskeletal organ one of them on shoulder joint. On MRI shoulder joint examination one of the fat suppression techniques that can be used by applying Frequency Selective Inversion Pulse which consists of two methods namely SPIR method and SPAIR method (Wu Jing, et al, 2012).The SPAIR method is a powerful technique for suppressing fat that has a low sensitivity to the inhomogeneity of RF pulses, while the SPIR method is considered to have a fast scan time. This study aims to determine the difference between shoulder joint anatomical information between SPIR and SPAIR methods and to know more optimal method of fat suppression in displaying shoulder joint anatomy information.This type of research is qualitative research with experimental approach. This research was conducted at Radiology Department of Premier Bintaro Hospital. The data were 10 MRI images shoulder joint T2-FSE sequence fat suppression coronal slices of 5 volunteers with 2 variations of fat suppression method (SPIR and SPAIR). Image assessment is done by 3 respondents about the resulting image information. Data analysis was done by wilcoxon test to know the difference of shoulder joint anatomical information between SPIR and SPAIR method and mean rank test to find out more optimal method of fat suppressionThe results showed significant value
