PENGARUH TERAPI MUSIK GAMELAN TERHADAP PENINGKATAN KREATIVITAS ANAK DENGAN AUTISME DI SLB C YAYASAN AUTISMA SEMARANG

Background: Autism is a pervasive developmental disorder. By 2015 it is estimated that there are 12,800 children with autism in Indonesia. Data obtained from preliminary study in February 2018 found Autism student data in SLB C Yayasan Autisma Semarang amounted to 12 children. One method that is now developed to improve the communication of children with autism is music therapy. The sounds, tones, and rhythms, contained in gamelan music, can sharpen the mind and enhance creativity. Neurons are number of millions to be active when listening to music so as to enhance the creativity of children.Goal: This study aimed to examine the influence of gamelan music therapy on improving creativity of children with autism in SLB C Yayasan Autisma Semarang.Method: The study design is One - Group pre - post test design. A group of autistic children performed a pre - test by way of coloring pictures of apples, bananas, flowers, rabbits and cats prior to therapeutic intervention gamelan music, then do post - test by means of the same coloring on day 7 after the intervention for 6 days.Result: The result of Wilcoxon test shows p value = 0,017
