PENGARUH PERAWATAN METODE KANGURU TERHADAP KENAIKAN BERAT BADAN DAN SUHU BAYI BERAT BADAN LAHIR RENDAH (BBLR) DI RSUD KABUPATEN BATANG

Low birth weight to be a world health problem. Worldwide Low Birth Weight (LBW) incidence was estimated at 15% to 20% of all births of 20 million births per year (WHO, 2015). One method that can be used to increase weight and prevent hypothermia used the kangaroo method.This research aimed to determine the effect of kangaroo treatment method to increase weight and temperature of Low Birth Weight (LBW) in General Hospital Batang Regency.The corresponding research design used descriptive analytic. quasi experiment design approach one group pretest posttest. The sample of this research was Low Birth Weight (LBW) baby as many as 20 babies. The technique of sampling used accidental sampling. The instrument of data collecting used check list, scales, thermometer, kangaroo clothes..The result showed that there were effect of kangaroo method to weight (?: 0,001) and temperature (?: 0,001) of Low Birth Weight (LBW) Baby in General Hospital Batang Regency.From the results of this study used as a consideration for health workers about the treatment of kangaroo methods for LBW babies so it can help improve the quality of the general state of the baby and accelerate the growth of infants with LBW.
