ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN KELUARGA PADA KLIEN TUBERKULOSIS PARU DENGAN FOKUS STUDI KURANG PENGETAHUAN TENTANG RESIKO PENULARAN PADA KELUARGA

Tuberculosis is a contagious disease caused by a bacterial infection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.The source of infection is TB patients with smear-positive pulmonary via sprinkling of microscopic sputum issuance. One of the actions taken to prevent the transmission of pulmonary TB on families is to provide information to clients and families through the education about lung health. The objective of this study is to provide family nursing care to clients of pulmonary TB and increase the knowledge of the client and their family regarding prevention of pulmonary TB transmission. The method used in this study is descriptive method that aims to describe the incident or condition of the client. The subjects in this study were two families with smear positive pulmonary TB. The results showed that the health education could enhance the knowledge of the family in the prevention of the risk of pulmonary TB transmission in other healthy family members, it was shown on the 25 questions in questionnaire, the first client was able to answer 23 questions correctly while the second client was able to answer 24 questions correctly. In addition, both clients were able to take steps to prevent the transmission of pulmonary tuberculosis. The suggestions in this research is that the client and families should be able to perform maintenance independently through the management of family health by preventing the spread of pulmonary tuberculosis.
