HUBUNGAN KARAKTERISTIK IBU HAMIL TERHADAP KEJADIAN MUAL DAN MUNTAH PADA IBU HAMIL TRIMESTER I

Nausea and vomiting are the most common disorder found in first trimester. Approximately 60-80% primigravida claimed to have experienced nausea, vomiting, whereas the mother multigravida, the incidence of nausea and vomiting that occurs is around 40-60%. These symptoms are caused by the effect of raising estrogen levels or the levels of human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG), which is working on the chemoreceptor trigger zone in the midbrain. Predisposing factors that influence nausea and vomiting are hormonal factors, allergic factors and psychological factors. Public Health Center of Borobudur is one of the public health service is located in the subdistrict of Borobudur, Magelang regency. Borobudur health center has a number of pregnant women the second most coverage in Magelang District after Public Health Center of Grabag I, but has the incidence of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women the first trimester highest.This study aimed to describe the characteristics of pregnant women related to the incidence of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women trimester I. The population in this study is the first trimester pregnant women who experience nausea and vomiting in early pregnancy. The number of samples as many as 81 respondents with a total sampling technique that is 59 women with morning sickness and 22 women with hyperemesis gravidarum.This research is analytic survey using cross sectional design. The independent variable in this study are the characteristics of pregnant women consisting of maternal age, parity status of pregnant women, maternal education level, employment status of pregnant women and the dependent variable was the incidence of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women trimester I.Based on the results of research conducted by Chi Square test shows that parity status of pregnant women (p-value 0.032; OR 3.545 with CI 95% 1.069 to 11.761) associated with the incidence of morning sickness in first trimester of pregnant women. Age trimester pregnant women (p-value 0.756) , maternal educational level (p-value 0.513), and employment status of pregnant women (p-value 0.116) did not show any significant results with the incidence of morning sickness in first trimester of pregnant women. This result can be a material evaluation in order to retain and further enhance activity counseling to pregnant mothers about the importance of prenatal care and continue to provide counseling for early detection of complications in pregnancy may continue until labor that could affect the safety of the mother and fetus
