Ti/SiCf MMC monotapes have been successfully fabricated by vacuum plasma spraying. The as-sprayed MMC monotapes have a uniform fibre distribution, dense matrix and no fibre-matrix interfacial reaction. The effects of processing parameters such as H2 flow rate, plasma current, chamber pressure and spray distance on the monotape temperature, porosity and fibre infiltration have been evaluated quantitatively. The mechanism of fibre infiltration is discussed in detail
