This article deals with psychological mechanisms in professionally-oriented approach to learning foreign languages in non-linguistic faculties of universities. This approach is very actual as it develops students’ ability to speak foreign languages in specific professional, business, academic fields and situations, taking into account the characteristics of professional thinking. Psychological approach to foreign language teaching must be closely connected with culture oriented method as the leading one and recognized as a priority in the focus of the education renewal.
