The parity non-conserving electric dipole transition element for the 6s → 7s transition in Cs has been evaluated using Many-Body Perturbation Theory. Diagrams containing only single excitations were evaluated « to all orders » using a self-consistent procedure, which was found to give an automatic equivalence between the length and velocity forms of the dipole operator. Correlation effects, which require simultaneous excitation of two orbitals, have not been included.
