Thin films of permalloy have been investigated by microwave resonance techniques. The saturation magnetization has been measured as a function of thickness ; harmonic generation has been considered. A theoretical analysis has been carried out of exchange effects in ferromagnetic resonance in thin films, and various criteria for observing such effects are compared with preliminary experimental results.
