The analysis of the radial distribution curves deduced by Fourier transform from the X-ray diffraction spectra of molten salts confirms the results already obtained f or alkali fluorides : in the liquid state the low-range order of the crystal is conserved but the first coordination number is much lower. This proves the lacunar structure of molten halides.
