Nous passons en revue les propriétés des couches minces amorphes propres à l'enregistrement thermomagnétique. Nous considérons en particulier les processus qui permettent l'écriture, la lecture et l'effacement. Nous discutons les avantages et désavantages des matériaux amorphes. Nous donnons des données expérimentales sur le processus d'écriture.Properties of amorphous RE-(Fe, Co) thin films relevant to thermomagnetic recording are reviewed. Attention is paid to the writing-, reading- and erasure process. The advantages and disadvantages of the amorphous materials are considered. Experimental data on the writing process are given
