The interaction between a screw dislocation and magnetization is studied taking into account the supplementary stresses due to the relaxation of the magnetoelastic incompatibilities [4]. The equations used are generally non linear except when the dimensions of the solid containing the dislocation are small in comparison with the width of the domain wall, or when the applied magnetic field is strong. In Ni3Fe, where the magnetocrystalline anisotropy is small, the full calculation for an infinite medium gives a maximum deviation of the magnetization of the order of 30° at a distance of 600 Å from the dislocation.
