The dissociation of dislocations in the spinel (Al2O3) 1.8MgO, deformed at high temperature, has been studied by means of weak beam images in T.E.M. glide dislocations dissociate into two collinear partials 1/4 ; in certain particular configurations another dissociation mode in the { 111 } planes is observed.
