The article presents the 3D scanning methodology for large architectural objects, using stationary laser scanners in case of objects of cultural heritage. The developed methodology was tested in the field during 3D scanning of architectural monuments of the city of Samarkand in Uzbekistan. Particular attention is paid to technical and organisational problems of the 3D scanning process of architectural objects which appeared during the Second Scientific Expedition of the Lublin University of Technology to Central Asia.
