With the recent advent of devices using heterojunctions, like HEMTs, there exists now a growing interest in the physical study of two-dimensional electron dynamics. In this paper, we detail a Monte Carlo model which allows one to easily study transport phenomena at high electric field. We also present a model for the coupling between a two-dimensional electron system and a three-dimensional electron system embedded in the same material. One then computes the electron drift velocity as function of bias fields applied to the system.
