The use of information technology has been extended to hospitals. The purpose of the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) is to improve the quality of patient care and to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the workers. This study aims to look for usability issues and provide recommendations to achieve the purpose of the system. The usability evaluation was carried out by using the contextual inquiry method involving five doctors as the users of the system. The study was conducted at an emergency room of one regional public hospital in Jakarta. The results show that the system applied the interaction design principles, and it was quite easy to be used by doctors, but it still needed to be improved. The end results of this ...
