Among the most commonly studied properties of building materials, their strength and physical properties should be mentioned. There is, however, one more feature that exist at the border of these two areas and not taking it into account during the design process of a given building can lead to negative results. This is the susceptibility of the material to the phenomenon of shrinkage.
