Specialized knowledge of initial years'teachers on multiplication : a meta-synthesis of theses produced between 2001 and 2012 in different formative contexts

Entretanto, pesquisas revelam que seu estudo e aprendizagem requer uma prática pedagógica própria e específica, utilizando estratégias e tarefas que explorem os diferentes sentidos e significados de multiplicação. Este fato aponta para a necessidade de investigar o conhecimento do professor referente aos aspectos matemáticos e didático-pedagógicos do ensino deste conteúdo. A partir dessa demanda, surge, por volta da década de 1980, investigações com foco no conhecimento profissional do professor, dando origem a vários modelos analíticos, notadamente o Mathematical Knowledge for Teaching (MKT) de Deborah Ball e colaborares e, mais recentemente, o Mathematics Teacher¿s Specialized Knowledge (MTSK) de José Carrillo e colaboradores. Nesse contexto, este estudo buscou investigar a abordagem dada pelas pesquisas acadêmicas brasileiras ao conhecimento do professor que ensina matemática (PEM) nos anos iniciais de escolarização em relação à multiplicação, tendo como referência estes e outros modelos. Para isso, foi, inicialmente, realizado um mapeamento de 229 teses e dissertações que investigaram o PEM nesse nível de ensino e que fizeram parte do corpus do Projeto Mapeamento e estado da arte da pesquisa brasileira sobre o professor que ensina Matemática produzida no período se 2001 a 2012 em programas de pós-graduação stricto sensu nas áreas de Educação e Ensino da Capes. O mapeamento relativo aos 229 estudos, sendo 45 teses de doutorado e 184 dissertações de mestrado, destacou, entre outros aspectos, as principais tendências temáticas privilegiadas pelas pesquisas. Dentre essas temáticas, foram selecionadas, visando um estudo aprofundado sobre o conhecimento especializado do PEM nos anos iniciais do ensino básico, aquelas que tratavam do conhecimento matemático do PEM ou de sua formação matemática e didático-pedagógica. Assim, de 12 teses de doutorado identificadas como investigações sobre o conhecimento matemático de professores ou futuros professores em diferentes processos formativos, foram selecionados para uma revisão sistemática na modalidade metassíntese, três estudos que analisaram conhecimentos do PEM relativos à multiplicação. Com o objetivo de identificar os conhecimentos especializados do PEM no âmbito da multiplicação, foi produzida, primeiramente, uma síntese interpretativa de cada um dos estudos e, a seguir, uma síntese integrativa ¿ isto é, uma metassíntese ¿ dos mesmos. A metassíntese resultante revelou tanto possibilidades e contribuições relevantes quanto limitações e lacunas sobre os processos formativos dos professores e a investigação desses processos, tendo em vista o conhecimento especializado do professor que ensina multiplicação nos anos iniciais de escolarizaçãoAbstract: The multiplication is considered one of the four elementary operations worked since the first years of schooling. However researches reveals that yours study and learning requires a own specific pedagogical practice, using strategies and tasks that explore the different meanings of multiplication. This fact points to the need of investigate the knowledge of the teacher relative to the mathematical aspects and pedagogical teaching of this content. From this demand, appears, around the decade of 1980, studies with the focus on professional knowledge of the teacher, giving rise to several analytical models, notably the Mathematical Knowledge for Teaching (MKT) from Deborah Ball and contributors and, more recently, the Mathematics Teacher¿s Specialized Knowledge (MTSK), from José Carrillo and contributors. In this context, this study sought to investigate the approach given by Brazilian academic researches to the knowledge of the teacher who teaches mathematics (PEM) in the initial years of schooling in relation to multiplication, having these and other models as references. For this, it was initially carried out a mapping of 229 theses and dissertations that investigate the PEM in this level of education and that made part of the corpus of the Project Mapping and state of the art of Brazilian research on the teacher who teaches Mathematics produced between 2001 and 2012 in stricto sensu graduate programs in the areas of Education and Teaching of Capes. The mapping relating to 229 studies, being 45 doctoral theses and 184 master's dissertations, highlighted, among another aspects, the main thematic trends privileged by researches. Among these themed, were selected, looking forward to a study deepened about the specialized knowledge of PEM in the initial years of the basic education, those dealing with mathematical knowledge of PEM or about your mathematic and pedagogic formation. Therefore, of 12 theses doctoral identified as investigations about the mathematical knowledge of teachers or future teachers in different formative processes, were selected to a systematic review in the meta-synthesis mode, three studies that analyzed knowledge of PEM relative to multiplication. In order to identify the specialized knowledge of the PEM in multiplication scope, was produced, first, an interpretive synthesis of each one of the studies and, next, an integrative synthesis ¿ a meta-synthesis ¿ of the same. The resulting meta-synthesis revealed both relevant possibilities and contributions and limitations about the formative processes of the teachers and the investigation about these processes, in view of the specialized knowledge of the teacher who teaches multiplication in the initial years of schoolingDoutoradoEducaçãoDoutora em EducaçãoCAPE
