Synthesis and analysis of four-bar mechanism

Orientador: Katia Lucchesi Cavalca DediniDissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Faculdade de Engenharia MecânicaResumo: O método estudado neste trabalho enquadra-se na síntese dimensional de mecanismos de quatro barras pelo método dos pontos de precisão. Utilizam-se as equações lineares de loop dos mecanismos de quatro-barras, em sua forma complexa, sendo posteriormente arranjados em sua forma matricial. A solução desse sistema retorna os comprimentos das barras dos mecanismos. Em seguida, aplicam-se os conceitos de análise cinemática e cinética dos mecanismos sintetizados, obtendo, assim, uma completa caracterização do comportamento desses mecanismos. Da parte cinemática, retornam os gráficos de deslocamento, velocidade e aceleração angulares do acoplador e da segunda manivela em função da variação do ângulo de entrada na primeira manivela. Na parte cinética, analisam-se os efeitos da aplicação de uma força no acoplador. Como resultados, o algoritmo retorna gráficos de força, deslocamento, velocidade e aceleração em função do tempo. Desenvolveu-se uma interface gráfica para fácil utilização dos algoritmos de síntese e de análise dinâmica para mecanismos de quatro-barras, utilizando o toolbox GUIDE do MATLAB. Além da resposta gráfica, o algoritmo permite o salvamento dos arquivos de entrada e saída, e a visualização de uma animação simulando o movimento do mecanismo, tanto na análise cinemática quanto na análise cinética, quando o sistema é submetido a uma força externa. Finalmente, simulou-se o mecanismo de quatro-barras sintetizado, posicionando uma mola e um amortecedor transversalmente ao mesmo. Foram feitas as análises cinemática e cinética após a aplicação de uma força externa ao centro de massa do acoplador e a otimização do coeficiente de elasticidade da mola e do coeficiente de amortecimento, buscando minimizar diferentes funções objetivo, sendo estas a curva de deslocamento do ponto de interesse no acoplador, a curva de velocidade, e a curva de aceleração, aplicando diferentes restrições a cada caso particular. O objetivo é oferecer uma ferramenta genérica, de síntese, análise e otimização de um mecanismo de quatro-barras, auxiliando o projetista de máquinas na obtenção da melhor solução possível de um problemaAbstract: The method studied in this work fits in the dimensional synthesis of four-bar mechanisms by the method of the precision points. The linear loop equations of the four-bar mechanisms are used in their complex form and later arranged in their matrix form. The solution of this system returns the lengths of the bars of the mechanism. Then, the concepts of kinematic and kinetic analysis of the synthesized mechanisms are applied, thus obtaining a complete characterization of the behavior of these mechanisms. From the kinematic part, the angular displacement, velocity and acceleration graphs of the coupling and the second crank are returned as a function of the variation of the input angle in the first crank. In the kinetic part, the effects of the application of a force on the coupler are analyzed. As results, the algorithm returns graphs of force, displacement, velocity and acceleration as a function of time. A graphical interface was developed to enable easier user utilization of the synthesis and dynamic analysis algorithms for four-bar mechanisms, using the MATLAB GUIDE toolbox. In addition to the graphical response, the algorithm allows saving of the input and output files and the visualization of an animation simulating the movement of the mechanism, both in the kinematic analysis and in the kinetic analysis, when the system is subjected to an external force. Finally, the synthesized four-bar mechanism was simulated, positioning a spring and a damper transversely to the mechanism. Kinematic and kinetic analyzes were performed after the application of an external force to the center of mass of the coupler and the optimization of the coefficient of elasticity of the spring and the damping coefficient, aiming to minimize different objective functions, which are the displacement of the point of interest in the coupler, the velocity curve, and the acceleration curve, applying different restrictions to each particular case.
