A perspectiva de um olhar sobre a vida dos agentes do tribunal de fé é ressaltada nesse trabalho através da metodologia adotada. Colocando-a como protagonista, procurou-se observar a vida e a vinda de Heitor Furtado de Mendonça (século XVI) e de Marco Teixeira (século XVII), os agentes da Inquisição que visitaram a América, para além de uma biografia organizada e racional.
