INFLUENCE EDUCATION FOR FATHERS TOWARD BREASTFEEDING FATHER’S ROLES, MOTHER ANXIETY, FLUETNESS AND BREASTFEEDING DELIVERY PATTERN

Introduction : Father`s role had strongly proved in increasing of the successness of breastfeeding delivery but, in the contrary, there are many father that still giving no optimal support in breastfeeding delivery because of father`s education and the asumption that breastfeeding is mother`s responsibilities. The objective of this study was to explaine the influence education for father`s toward breastfeeding father’s role, mother anciety, breastfeeding delivery pattern and its fluentness. Methods : This study used post test only control group design. Experimental group and control group were classified using simple random. The data then calculated and analyzed using statistics calculation. Result and Analysis : The results showed that 1) education for fathers could increase to implement role as breastfeeding father; 2) education for father could decrease mother anxiety at the postpartum time 3) education for fathers could increase breastfeeding fluentness; 4) education for fathers could increase positive breastfeeding delivery pattern that include colostrum delivery, breastfeeding delivery exclusiveness, frequency and duration of breastfeeding. Discussion and Conclusion : it is recommended 1) nurse could judge prenatal education in the pregnancy class addressed to the husband as an alternative solution increasing success of the exclusive breastfeeding programme; 2) respondent have to increase the role that has done and to give information that has gained to the other person; 3) next researcher have to reviewing all of the confounding factor as mother nutrition, mother personality type, and infant health condition.
