No caso específico do basquetebol, esse fato não é diferente. Apesar de haver propostas pioneiras de formação, tais como cursos oferecidos pela Escola Nacional de Treinadores de Basquetebol, no âmbito da pesquisa científica há uma pouquidade de investigações sobre os treinadores de basquetebol.
