In the present study, a low-cost bio-adsorbent is developed from the naturally and abundantly available dried Mediterranean plant which is biodegradable. The bio-adsorbent was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and point of zero charge (PZC). A study on the adsorption kinetics and isotherms was performed applying the optimized conditions. The equilibrium data for the adsorption of acid blue 113 on dried plant is tested with various adsorption isotherm models such as Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin and Dubinin–Radushkevich equation.
