Design of a kilocurie 60Co gamma ray source is described. Irradiation facilities are given both for research on radiation chemistry and photonuclear reactions. Cobalt samples were placed in six small cylinders in a lead drum. Dose-rates are indicated for various exposure chambers. The volume of the central exposure chamber is of 1 000 cc and the integral dose rate is of 2.108 rads. kilog/hour.
