The validation of constitutive equations currently based on the expansion of a sphere or the test of Taylor is difficult to obtain for fragile materials, which are fractured in traction for weak deformations. So, to overcome this shortcoming, we have developed a new validation test: the implosion of an explosive-loaded cylinder. After validation of the experimental setup on TA6V4 presented in a previous publication and various technological developments, the implosion of a beryllium cylinder has been completed. The velocity of a conical beryllium sample is measured using DLI techniques. This paper presents experimental results and compares the experimental velocity with numerical simulations carried out with different laws of behavior to va...
