This paper deals with the study of the harmonic model developed to represent the behaviour of parallel multicell converters. The study of this model based on state space equations, and of its eigenvalues, gives a full characterization of the current balancing property. Obtaining an analytical expression between the parameters of the converter and the eigenvalues of the model allows thorough understanding of the balancing property and gives design guidelines. This state space harmonic model also enables straight determination of the steady state operation.
