The control of series resonant converters remains an important axis of research. A classical frequency control gives often current and voltage overshoots which could damage the power semiconductors. The duration of these transient states reduces considerably the converter pass band. The principle of the presented control consists in the imposition of an optimal trajectory in the state plane diagram. Thus, the state variables characterising the resonant circuit are perfectly mastered. Transient states have a minimal duration, the state variables do not have overshoots.
