This paper deals with the reduction of a high-order linear system. To this end, four methods are presented. The first one consists of selecting eigenvalues of a high-order system which will be retained in the aggregated low-order model. This method is based on the determination of the time moments. The second method, called balanced matrix, estimates the degree of the commandability and the observability of the state vector. In the third method, a criterion index is proposed for selecting the most important states which will be retained in the reduced model.
