Magnetic properties of matter can be studied by a variety of experimental methods, the different techniques often providing complementary information. The present paper deals with three applications where magnetic scattering of neutrons and other techniques may supplement each other. Discussions are presented on the following subjects: 1. The use of polarized gamma-radiation for spin-structure determinations, 2. Possible applications of neutrons for measurements of magnetic hyperfine interactions, and 3. Studies of spin-waves by neutrons and by electromagnetic waves
