This article presents an evaluation of two solutions selected in order to produce electricity by small power plants burning biomass. The former solution uses a gas turbine cycle fed by the hot pressurized gas produced in a pyrolysis furnace followed by a combustion chamber. The latter solution consists in a biomass gasifier feeding an internal combustion engine.
